The Academy for Professionalism in Health Care (APHC) is an inclusive community of professionals dedicated to advancing professionalism in health-related fields (www.academy-professionalism.org). This year’s International Hybrid Conference focus is on “Professionalism and Advocacy - Achievements, Barriers and Complexities”. It will be held from June 3 -5, 2026 at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (Camden, NJ) and via Zoom.
In keeping with this focus, we invite you to submit an image (e.g., photo, artwork, illustration, cartoon) that embodies your perspective on the meaning or challenges of advocacy to share with conference participants.
An image, for example, might reflect one of the critical themes to be discussed during the conference including:

- Who Needs Help - Patients, Learners, Providers, Systems?
- When to Advocate for Patients, Learners, Co-workers?
- Self-Advocacy – A Key to Wellness and Success for Patients, Learners and Professionals?
- Advocating for Justice and Peace – An Ethical Responsibility of Healthcare Professionals?
See the full list of themes on the conference website.
You can find some examples of images that are used to stimulate reflection on particular healthcare topics at Pulse Voices Visuals.
